Carding is the second stage in the overall spinning process at mills. It is done after blow room, and is followed by combing, draw framing, and roving.
There is a rule of thumb for this: the lower the carding gap is, the better is the overall quality. Advanced carding machines, together with robust card cans, keep the gap between flats clothing and the cylinder constant.
High-performance, precision-engineered carding cans eliminate the possibilities of sliver breakage and other imperfections. The percentage of neps in the fibres is minimised too (i.e., nep-removal efficiency is optimised).
Several quality-related problems, like patches and/or holes in cotton web, sliver variations, nep formation, and fibre-blending glitches, can crop up. However, by using advanced carding machinery with reliable spinning cans, these problems can be removed.
Problems in the spring load results in higher U% and CVm% of the sliver. The unevenness is more in the lower level of sliver coils of the cans.
Any tilting of the can will deteriorate the sliver quality and the coils of the sliver. This, in turn, leads to sliver wastage in the next process during unwinding in the creel zone of the breaker draw frame. That’s precisely why our card cans come with zero-tilt assurance.
Due to damaged caster wheels, the cans’ transportation and movement is affected. This leads to production loss and labour fatigue. Jumac cans come with strong and freely movable caster wheels to eliminate such issues.
