Drawframing is the spinning stage during which the drawing and combining of the slivers from textile fibres is done. Sliver equalisation and blending are done in the drawframe machine along with removal of impurities.
The drawframing stage is extremely crucial for ensuring better fibre arrangement and uniformity – factors which directly affect the final yarn quality. Through efficient drafting, the weight per unit sliver length is also reduced.
Custom-designed breaker drawframe cans go a long way towards ensuring smooth sliver handling in the drawframe stage. These mechanically strong cans reduce sliver count variations, facilitate seamless blending, and boost overall drawframing efficiency.
Mechanical and/or operational glitches in the drawframe stage can cause the fibre lap count in sliver to be high. There can be problems in straightening the crimped or hooked sliver as well. By using advanced draw frame machines and breaker spinning cans, these risks can be removed.
Improper spring load in breaker drawframe cans leads to higher U% and sliver quality deteriorates. Sliver stretching can also increase due to its own weight hanging in the creel zone. The breakage rate will also go up in the creel zone of the lap forming machine.
